Why Venture
Welcome to my new blog and my new life as a VC.
Why venture and why VC Mom? If you continue to read this you will hear more but here are my top reasons.
On a personal level I felt I needed to lift my head up from day to day operations and see the broader industry again. Venture at its best allows you to do this. I guess the metaphors are “get out of the weeds” or “see the forest for the trees”.
“ VC Mom” started with the simple idea that children are a bit like start ups. I won’t take this too far, but use your imagination (yes it involves nurture financial support persistence patience passion and ..love..). As I considered this move I just knew that my experience raising kids would be valuable to the process of helping our companies. It could just as easily been “VC Dad” (and it appears there are many more of them).
And so with two simple thoughts, let the games begin.
